Ink, acrylic and resin on clear acrylic panel framed floating on a natural oak external frame.
Signed on the front, ready to hang.
When my daughter turned one, we had our first family trip to Tasmania. Like the tides, these moments happen in the blink of an eye. I wanted to create a piece that embodied her curiosity about the sea. The ocean currents are created by two forces, the sun and the moon. Something that happens in an organic manner you can't control, but beautiful to watch. The fluidity of the painting represents the highs and lows you feel during the amazing first year we shared together. I chose a clear acrylic sheet to draw viewers to take a closer look, to see the additional depth and layers beneath. The textures through the transparency of the acrylic is intended to create shadows as you move, just like the ocean.
